Our Difference

Unlike other virtual gathering providers, all of our virtual services are planned and hosted by a licensed and experienced funeral director. With their expertise with in-person funeral services, they can ensure a compassionate and professional virtual gathering to remember and honor the life of a loved one.

Benefits of a Funeral Director Host

  • Extensive experience coordinating the many moving parts associated with a funeral including clergy, speakers, music, displays, family, and guests

  • Familiarity with established as well as up-and-coming funeral ceremonies, rituals, and traditions to tailor unique programs for each family

  • Ability to set up a service in record time allowing for short-notice virtual gatherings

  • Extensive experience resolving familial, personal, and technical issues before and during services

Relationship To Funeral Homes

VirtualTributes is not a funeral home and thus cannot take care of the deceased directly. You will still need to

work with a funeral home or cremation organization to handle final disposition and death certificates. We partner

with various funeral homes across the U.S. and are happy to provide recommendations based on the location of

the deceased. Often, families will choose to cremate or bury the deceased without any ceremony from the funeral

home and then have a virtual gathering. This saves on funeral expenses while still allowing them the comforts and

closure of a memorial service. Other times, families host a virtual gathering after an in-person funeral to meet the

guests who could not attend the first service.

Please contact us if you have any questions on our process. We are happy to answer any questions or explain any

points in more detail.
